Reina is a registered clinical social worker. She has a private practice in midtown Toronto (Yonge and Eglinton) and Thornhill (Yonge and Steeles) where she provides individual, couple, and family counselling in her offices or remotely using Skype. Reina also conducts alternative dispute resolution and mediation.

Reina has a specialized Honors degree in Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in individual, family, and group counselling. She has also completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is certified in equine-assisted psychotherapy, and has training in family mediation. EMDR and equine-assisted psychotherapy can be used to treat phobias and trauma.

Reina has conducted original research about the emotional impacts of infertility on couples, and developed an innovative counselling tool to help couples cope with stresses in their relationships. Her research won the Ivana Guglietti-Kelly Prize for Excellence in Qualitative Research at York University, the Graduate Gold Medal (Master’s Level) for the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University, and was published in the British Infertility Counselling Association Journal. Reina was also nominated for the Governor General's Academic Medal.

Reina is a contributing author to Embrace Your Fertility. The book offers a multifaceted discussion about infertility, and includes expert advice from professionals about such topics as naturopathy, acupuncture, the mind body connection, and medical treatments. Reina's chapter provides a case study of a couple going through infertility, and demonstrates how she counsels couples so that they can successfully work through the many challenges of infertility.

Reina has also developed and conducted seminars for TAPE Education Services, and has made presentations and conducted workshops for the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society, Ryerson University, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada.

Reina is Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee at the TRIO fertility clinic. She is also a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers, EMDR Canada, the Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), and the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society.
